My career in therapy stems from my initial career as a therapy radiographer in the health service and spans over many years during which time I also raised my family.

I became increasingly fascinated by the connection between the body and mind in my patients' rehabilitation and wellbeing, so I trained as a counsellor in order to facilitate groups for cancer patients and their carers as well as supporting the other hospital staff working in our stressful environment.

I then trained as a psychotherapist with the Tivoli Institute, Dublin and have run a successful busy private practice for the last 10 years.

I am passionate about my self-development and attend regular professional courses to ensure that I keep my practice up to the minute. For example, I have just completed training in CBT.

As a mature therapist, I now only run a small practice, but am fully committed to supporting my clients to their most positive outcomes. This is provided in conjunction with Ruth Hoskins, a body psychotherapist. Between us we can offer a broad spectrum of experience and training.  Along with our individual work we co- facilitate training groups for stress management in the community and in the voluntary sector.

My core training is humanistic and integrative, with a psychodynamic basis. I believe the therapeutic relationship is key. I come from a transpersonal philosophy, having trained in psychosynthesis and meditative practices and I integrate Gestalt, bodywork and creative experiences where appropriate.

I am registered, accredited and work within the code and ethics of: BACP, IAHIP and ECP.
